It really helps those older eyes see to focus. Very nice touch that it includes diopter correction too. A little expensive but sent quickly and received within a few days. I know others have mentioned it which is what prompted me to order one. I thought I would confirm for others that may be on the fence. Dirk seems to be a nice guy with a fast response.
I have a +3 Nikon eyepiece for the R-D1 for $14 if anyone is interested. I purchased it unsure if it would help but it is too strong for my eyes. I really only needed a +1 but it was all the store (used camera store in Costa Mesa) had so I thought I would give it a try.

barjohn, do you mind mentioning where you got it? Last I heard we couldn't order it here in the states due to patents or something.

I ordered it directly on line from Megaperls. It went through customs without any problems. I too saw that note on the web site but the order went through. I paid the extra for express mail (EMS) shipment.

But of course you were ordering it to use on your, um, Nikon D70, right? SLR usage is not covered by Leica's patent.
