When those images are still loading (still on dial up here), yes I can see moire/broken gradation of grey tones.
When fully loaded, those images are smooth. I like no. 14 most.
Looks like the 40/1.4 is a decent performer to me but I must resist this temptation....

Ok, some more shots from a new roll posted. This one was taken yesterday morning with some nice diffuse morning light. Tri-X this time. The night shots I showed earlier did not show me overall this lens' capability and character. Some of these shots do. Overall I am extremeley pleased. See here:

I was looking for a lens to give me a nice old-fashioned "glow" yet still retaining some good sharpness (yes, the legendary, perhaps fabled, glow). Many say it's lighting that creates it and the lens is not as important. I'm not so sure. See the images in the park especially. The lighting was quite good but if I had taken these images with my G2/45 Planar combo they would have been perhaps a tad sharper and definitely more contrasty, but I think I may have lost some of the glow or diffused lighting on the highlights----which is what I'm after for my portraits and street shots. I like this lens a lot. It's why I bought the S.C version of this lens and it's coming through in the character and personality I wanted. Next, some street shots.....

Some useful examples, Richard, and looking good! In the far-bokeh I seem to detect a bit of harshness...

Looking at Park photos, this lens seems to have similar characteristic to G.Zuiko of Oly SP in the OOF area especially Park 2 and Park 3; not my cup of tea.

I agree, I find the background bokeh is very distracting in some of the park photos, even just in the grass. I bet the forground bokeh is great though, which could be handy for street shooting.

It looks like in photos 1-3 there is a chain link fence in the background adding to the "bad" bokeh. In photo 4 (which I think is a really nice shot Rich, is that your son?) you can see some stuff going on in the ground as you move away into the distance behind the boy.
