Just saying hello!

Hello everyone,

I've been lurking for a short while and joined RFF a couple of weeks ago as you seem very nice, friendly people.

I'm a 53 yrs old, currently married 😉 , police officer from the UK.

I've enjoyed photography since the late 80's, owning 35mm SLR's (Canon, Nikon and Minolta), MF (Mamiya TLR and SLR, Bronica). For my sins I'm currently a camera club judge for the Lancs and Cheshire area too :angel: . I currently own a Toyo folding 5x4 camera with 4 lenses, a Canon film and DSLR with quite a few 'L's. But my latest acquisition is a Bronica RF645 with the 45mm, 60mm and 100mm lenses - and I love it!😉 I say 'own' the 100mm lens but I'm waiting for to arrive from Toronto!

I've never owned a Rangefinder camera before so using it is still a novelty. Later today I'm going to pick up a couple of films I've had processed that I used to test the camera with the 45mm and 65mm lenses - can't wait!

Anyway, in the words of another wrinkly, old Brucie, "Nice to be here, to be here nice".

Welcome to the forum. I have the same gear, and really like the Bronica. I also use a DSLR, but increasingly if I am doing more serious work I reach for the RF. I hope you like it, and find the forum useful.

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody.

zuikologist - I handed them in to the local Jessops for process only as they were for test purposes. For B&W I normally process my own, for colour I use Peak Imaging.

Just a quick update - the 100mm lens arrived this morning, boxed, mint , with hood and B&W skylight attached (now off). I'm off to test it later today.

HM Customs slapped me with a GBP 108 import charge to add insult to injury to the expense of the lens itself - I hope that one day the parents of these Customs revenue generators do get married!!! :bang:
