I have a M9 on order, but I borrowed a M8.2 for the weekend so I could re-familiarise myself with Leica and try out my 35 cron.
I am pretty impressed, it shoots much more like a FF camera than DX.
If the M9 is better than this I'm going to be happy.
Excuse the skin tones on the last, big spot lights were lighting up the beach. I did notice the noise at ISO 1250.

I find the M8 has the "Look and Feel" that is closest to my classic film cameras of any digital that I've used. You'll like the M9 even better.

The M9 is, indeed, even nicer!

And the M9 produces considerably less image noise - but it remains a CCD camera, which accounts for the superior quality at lower ISO, but does produce a bit of noise at high ISO. Tradeoffs...

It may produce noise but at 2500 and shooting B&W I love it as it looks like grain to me, very film like. And I have shot it at 1200 with excellent results. Here is 1200 at my local post office. I am used to shooting people so I had no problem asking this young lady if she mined me taking her picture. After two shots she didn't even notice me any longer. M9 and 50mm
