良かったね!
It occurred to me this morning while making toast that more than once in Japan a camera has been criticized by its owner for not having a particular k-sha- sound when the shutter is released. It would appear that many consumers in this, the land of camera manufacture are in love with the DSLR clatter. Any clatter, in fact, so long as it sounds mechanical. (Hexar received mild approval.)
I used to think that the programmed audio in minicams was the result of chikan issues. That is, the audio was programmed-in to prevent perverts from taking upskirt shots and the like. That may be true, but it doesn't dissuade me from thinking that this country is in love with the paparazzi sound. It sounds like a moment is being captured (perhaps).
It's rather strange particularly since this is also a place where if I hand my camera off to a curious stranger, they never need my explanation of a rangefinder system as they usually are already aware of it. No exactly loud cameras, RFs.
I'm curious how locals feel about camera noise in other countries. In the states, I didn't notice anyone caring about it.
