I have a Kalloflex TLR that needs a couple of things done to make it a usable camera. First, it needs a CLA on the shutter. Next one of the screws that holds the back on is missing.

I don't think either of these things should be too difficult to fix and I was planning on sending the camera to Essex, but I understand they are either out of business or trying to get started again.

Can anyone give me a recommendation on where to send my Kalloflex?

Paul Ebel Camera Repair in Wisconsin worked on mine, he took care of a defective counter. He suggested not to CLA the shutter because it worked fine and was reasonably accurate, he gave me a printout of the shutter readings. It was a smooth transaction, no issues and he gave an estimate before starting work. He was busy at the time so it took about 3-4 weeks.

Here's the info I have on him.

I was also going to suggest Mark Hama. Some years ago the case strap on mine broke unexpectedly (a word to the wise with any old leather strap!) and the camera hit the ground. The lens standard was knocked out of alignment. Mark put it right -- sent a Polaroid showing how he basically had to completely dismantle it.
