The 1938 Pilot 6 uses the same shutter as the Pilot Super, in fact it is basically the same camera as the Pilot Super - the only differences between the 1938 Pilot 6 and the Super are in the viewfinders and the dual format capability.

The shutter in the 36-37 Pilot 6 is cocked with a lever and much simpler in construction.

Did not know that about the shutter.

The early Pilot-6 also has a fixed lens compared while the younger ones have interchangable ones (left handed thread!).
