I was just mucking around on ebay and came across the kaxinda 35mm 1.7 lens for fuji mount, and also for most of the other mirrorless mounts it seems. It is nice and compact, has a distance scale, pretty cheap (around $90) and, if you ignore the markings, reasonably good looking. The seller only has two image samples with the lens so I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with it.

I expect this is a remount of the 35/1.7 optics from the Chinese c-mount CCTV lenses. See Steve Huffs SLR Magic review among others.

There is no reason to believe that it is anything other than yet another packaging of that Chinese 35/1.7 CCTV lens more often sold as Fujian or without any label. Which is a CCTV lens - in my experience a shoddily assembled item with very poor edge resolution (well below 2MP), and overall no serious match for any 35mm SLR lens ever made (including Hanimex kit zooms and USSR made triplets). But at less than 30€, they are cheap enough to get one for silly experiments (or the included freebie C-Mount adapter). If they want more for the one you were offered, keep off...

Hm, you're probably both right, it would seem a bit unusual for it to be a coincidence. Strangely enough, some of the lenses are marked with 33mm rather than 35, but I'm assuming this is likely a mistake. Lens body looks v similar to some versions of the CV 35mm 2.5.

I have the 35 1.4 which is outstanding, so I have no real desire for this lens, but a true manual focus design with DOF scale and no need for adapted would be nice to have.

I was thinking about creating a new post but i thought it would be better to just add the info to this thread. I finally decided to buy a kaxinda 35mm lens. It has just arrived today and i have to say that the firsts impressions are not bad at all.

It looks nice (enough) to me, it's all metal and (enough) well built to me and it delivers good (enough) pictures. I mean..it cost like 80€ with shipping costs. I feel like i got even a little bit more of what i paid for.

I uploaded some sample images here https://www.flickr.com/photos/135448915@N07/ .

I'll be using the lens from now on for a while and I'll be uploading those photos in this account: https://www.flickr.com/photos/sergiosgonzalez/

Hope you found this info interesting, I didn't found much info about this lens and felt like sharing my experience. Thanks for reading.
