KEH 30% Off On Accessories Sale

It is a pity that they raised their overseas postage charges at the same time they shut down the classic web portal. It only means one has to spend even more with them to negate the disincentive of higher delivery costs. As far as I have been able to tell they haven't offered any postage discounts to overseas buyers.

50% off today (12/14). Interesting, I wouldn't think film an accessory but it is shown as a category on their Accessories page. Too bad they have no call hours on Sunday.

There are some great deals for those who have money to burn.
I have left their website to avoid GAS driven purchases.
Their digital spotmeters are good buys.
Leica finders are cheap.
Hasselblad backs are cheap.
Micro 4/3 adapters are cheap.

Well, I just returned from another dredging. Starting to fall into the category of being silly. I feel like a parent at the grocery checkout slapping the candy and gumballs out of my own hand.

I did sneak one past mommy though, a Leica SF 20 -my first of its type.

Is anyone going back to KEH to get a 10% refund? Is this being cheap or tacky?
I am not ...

Why bother? I think it was their mistake to allow any refunds the first time the sale jumped 10%.

It is what it is. The good stuff popped early and they increase the % to clear out the dregs.

... this is why I left the KEH website. I don't need anything. I always wanted a 1.25x magnifier, and I got one.

I was tempted yesterday at 40 percent, but not sure about finding $200 worth. At 50 percent I'm even more interested, but can find no explanation on their site of what qualifies, and of what the minimum means.

Does anybody here know what types of items qualify? Prisms? Screens? Hoods should be okay I assume.

And if $200 is the total order, or $200 in qualifying accessories, and is that before or after the discount (their wording makes that very unclear).

Anything except film in the accessory category

$200 before the discount is applied. So if you put $200 in your cart, you'll pay $100 at checkout.

Prisms, backs, screens, caps, filters, hoods, viewfinders, meters, batteries, chargers, memory cards, straps, bags (even new ones), etc.

Thanks. I figured some of that out, but not sure on all. I need to get busy shopping now. I surely can find that much.

Thanks guys. The 50% just cost me another $300. But let's see some bright sides (as they say in the Life of Brian).

- I found a Sekonic L-438 view spot meter, which I've always wanted
- I was able to upgrade my Nikon GPS to a Red Hen set
- I found a Linhof head for my finger-slicing Gibran tripod
- I found a pan head to use with a huge tripod and a tiny Sony HD camcorder
- I scored a B+W 415 strong UV in a weird size
- I found an ok MD-D10 for a good price
- I'll finally get to the bottom of sample variation in Fuji X to M mount adapters
- And a whole bunch of stuff I'm embarrassed to admit that I impulse bought

We'll see what makes it past the 30- and 90-day marks. But whatever happens, no one tell anyone else's wife, ok?
