So is it 1000 or 1250? my manual states 1000, my camera has 1250. I have always treated it as 1000, Hey, maybe its a contax converted to keiv.

At some time in the 1970s the top speed on the Kiev-4/4A was changed from 1/1250 to 1/1000. The later 4M/4AM always had 1/1000. In view of the slight difference it seems likely that this was simply a label change.

The shutter was always about 1/1000 , so the later Kievs simply acknowledged this fact .

That's what I read somewhere. My Kiev 4a says 1/1000.
