Yes, the JDM pancake. Not sure what caused the effect. I vaguely remember second guessing the meter, with the bright sky (at least bright for Seattle in November) and reflected glass in the upper left compared to the shadows in the opposite corner.

Thanks @agentlossing! I don't remember what focal length I used. Shortly after this, the manual/AF selector ring broke (apparently a common issue), so I can't use it on my FM2n anymore. I was able to jerry rig some gaffer tape around the selector ring to lock it in the AF position, and it seems to work ok with an AF body. 😅

Thanks @agentlossing! I don't remember what focal length I used. Shortly after this, the manual/AF selector ring broke (apparently a common issue), so I can't use it on my FM2n anymore. I was able to jerry rig some gaffer tape around the selector ring to lock it in the AF position, and it seems to work ok with an AF body. 😅

There are ways to fix it. It is worth fixing. The internet provides a lot of suggestions. The inner part is the Nikon MF RING UNIT 1B630-065 and the ring is the MA CHANGE RING 1K302-092. Go online and buy one or two and get someone to install it. The modern third party parts hold together a lot better than the originals.
