Dourbalistar, I’ve looked through this entire thread again and am very impressed with your photos, and not just for the appealing subject matter. I also like the uniformity of exposure and processing. I’ve never shot Kentmere 400, but last year bought a few rolls and want to give it a try (my go-to films in the past, Tri-X and TMax 400, have gotten pretty pricey). I’ve ordered some Legacy Pro 110 developer and am heading off to the Yosemite Valley in mid-Feb for some more photography. Two questions for you: (1) are you shooting/metering Kentmere 400 at box speed? (2) what agitation routine are you following?
BTW, I see that we cover a lot of the same territory in the Bay Area, including Russian Ridge and elsewhere in the Coast Range. Very nice work of a lovely area.
Thank you again, Bingley, I appreciate the kind words, it means a lot. I started using Kentmere 400 around this time last year, after Ultrafine eXtreme 400 went out of stock. So far, I've shot through one bulk roll, and I'm partway through my second. I set my camera's meter to 400, but usually meter for the shadows. Practically speaking, that probably means I end up slightly over exposing, somewhere between a half stop to a full stop depending on the scene. For incident readings with my Sekonic L-208, I rate the film at 400 and expose as the meter recommends. As far as agitation goes, it's pretty bog standard - inversions for 30 seconds initially, and then 3 gentle inversions per minute.
I live in the South Bay Area, and yes, we're lucky to live in close proximity to so many beautiful outdoor places. I've admired and been inspired your photos of the area as well. Maybe we'll cross paths out there one day! I hope you have great light in Yosemite, look forward to seeing your photos. I have a trip planned in mid-February, too, and I'm also contemplating what film/cameras to bring. I'm heading south to Joshua Tree with the family, so considering some faster film for the high desert sun. Maybe I'll bring a few rolls of short-dated (now recently expired) Acros II that I got on steep discount from Adorama...

My CL has an erratic meter, so I used my Sekonic L-208 here. Somewhere in the neighborhood of minimum focus distance, wide open, and 1/30. Definitely thereabouts...

Thank you, jbrubaker! I'm using a panoramic adapter that I got from eBay. It's the same kit described in this blog post below (not mine). I use a paper leader, but with an empty 35mm cassette on the take-up side:
