I've enjoyed your photos with Kentmere Pan 400 for a long time! I am working on a 100ft of XX and will join you shortly after emptying the bulk loader!

Thank you, newtorf! What you need is a second bulk loader.

I do have a second bulk loader in the shed, just too lazy to dig it out.
I am finishing my last few rolls of Arista Edu 100 and 200 so that I will have enough canisters to load the XX and Kentmere 400.
Thank you, newtorf! What you need is a second bulk loader.Jokes aside, bulk loaded Kentmere 400 is probably one of the best budget options out there for black and white 35mm film. Look forward to seeing your photos in this thread!

Haha, bulk loader problems. I have a second bulk loader (just in case!), but usually just spooling down one bulk roll at a time.

Dourbalistar, you have posted some very nice images. The tonality is very good. It looks like the combination of Kentmere 400 and L110 is a good match. How are you digitizing the images?

Thank you for the kind words, AgBr. Kentmere Pan 400 has been my "everyday" go to film for about a year and a half now and probably for the foreseeable future. I digitize my negatives with an old Sony NEX-5T, an APS-C sensor digital camera, mounted on a Leica BEOON copy stand. For the taking lens, I use an EL-Nikkor 50mm f/2.8 enlarger lens.

I kind of thought you were using a digacam to "scan" with. I have been doing it for a while too. The "scans" are so clean with better tones. I started with a D40x as an experiment and later went to a nex 7 and now I am using a Sigma quattro H. I have been looking for a quality 400 film that is easy on the pocket book, and you have you have really done a good job of showing it. Thank you.

Thank you, AgBr, I appreciate it. I also bulk roll Kentmere Pan 400, so that makes it even more economical. Another good thing about the film is that it dries really flat, at least in my experience. That makes it very easy to digitize, regardless of whether you use a conventional scanner or digicam. FWIW, I use distilled water for the developer and final wash, but pre-soak and rinse with filtered tap water.
