Hope everything goes well with her transplant. It is an amazing process and usually successful. It also brings home the importance that we register as organ donors.

My thoughts and prayers are with Adrena. The first year after the transplant can be rough due to complications from rejection and dealing with maintaining the right levels of anti rejection medication and the awful side effects from the steroids. My wife and I just had our four year checkup from her kidney transplant. I was her donor. Stay close to her during the recovery, she will need the physical and especially the emotional support and be patient because the steroids will really mess with her emotionally.

Thanks all for the kind words. I passed them on to Adrena and she replied "yay!"
Everything went perfectly with the surgery and it sounds like her new kidney is working overtime. right now. She's in gret spirits though and recovery is looking good.
I was supposed to visit her in the hopsital but yesterday at work I fell ill myself and had to leave early. I either have the flu or got food poisoning, though I think it's the former. That said, I'm not going to be seeing my friend until I'm well.

Photography and photographers have a long history documenting and shedding light on many causes and creating a momentum for change. Your project is great example of it. Thank you for continuing the tradition.
The choice is simple for those of us not doing this kind of work. Register to be organ donors, donate our bodies to science (fiction possibly),or let it rot six feet under. Simple choice I think.
Your friend is lucky to have you. Give her our best and help her keep her spirits up.
Love your project!

All the best to the both of you, now & into the future. Excellent job in documenting her journey dealing with this dreadful disease & now this transplant.
Thanks for sharing her story & I will be thinking about her in my prayer time & in those moments of introspection.
