Hello guys,
Aside from the Kiev 2, I also bought a Kiev 2A for cheap. This camera has a problem. After winded on, if I adjust the speed from fast to slow, it is ok. But if I adjust from slow to fast, the shutter curtain is lowering along with, left a hole between two curtains. The Ribbons are ok. Do you have any idea what's wrong with it?
Regards,
Thinh.

It's a problem of the retaining lever/hook that keeps the curtains closed (look inside the upper side of the frame-window).

I think that your camera needs a "CLA", although someone would simply drop a few lighter fluid to allow that parts move more freely.

A Kiev RF camera -in my opinion- would deserve a good treatment: spending some money with a good repairman, will give back in our hands a sound, fine camera, lasting for many years to come.

Best wishes,

E.L.

It also could be a problem with the tension/resistance of the shutter tapes. I agree, this is a matter that a standard servicing should be able to fix. Oleg Khalyavin should be able to take care of this: okvintagecamera.com

I would add a round of applause for Oleg.

Great workmanship. Decent pricing.

I've done business with him for more than 10 years now.
