Anyone know of a site with an English user manual for a Kiev 5
I have the one from keith berry which details all models - I just wondered if there is a specific one for the 5
thanks

The operation for kiev 5 is more or less the same as other kiev models. I don't use the winding level. I found the prongs for the take-up spool could easily give in when it encountered strong resistance. Therefore, a cassette is recommended.

As Pangkievrange notes, the 5 is pretty much the same as the 4. I do use the lever and have had no difficulties with it. I also only use standard 35mm cassettes.
The meter is operated similarily to the one on the Kiev 3, though it is a bit more sensitive and only goes up to Gost 250 however the meter continues to adjust beyond there. I have found by comparing it against my VC Meter II that if you line up the arrow with the 0 in 250, you can meter for ISO 400.
The only problem I've had with mine is that the self-timer doesn't work. And I really wish they had run the rewind lever up through the center of the light meter knob as it's location on the side can be a bit awkward when trying to reload quickly.

Well-known
I've had pretty good luck putting camera brands into my search engine and downloading the instructions.
However, I understand the problem. Once Zorki I ordered came with an instruction manual -- in Russian, of course. I sort of enjoy showing it to friends when they look at the camera. If you think the names on the cameras look strange, you should try that booklet!!
