Kiev ? Which model ?

I actually have five of these (Kiev 4s) -- a '71 vintage, '80, '81 and two from '83. It's been a long time since I have used them, and I'm not sure I've even used them all. The 1980's shutter just died on me the other day when I was checking it out (broken ribbon apparently) so now I'm down to four. I don't recall having issues with any of them but I do need to shoot film with them to check for light leaks.

I will say that despite some sloppy cosmetics on a couple of them, they all seem fine (the 1980 excepted of course). I am not sure the rewind crank was an improvement, but the larger film wind/shutter speed knob is nice to use, and a fixed takeup spool is also a good improvement.

... and a revived interest !
It was way back in 2007 when I received my 1st Oleged Kievs .
I am 'supposed' to clear some of my Kievs [ not the Contax bodied Arsenal Kiev-awakened clones ] but ended up buying a new back for one tired II and some spools ,cos some have gone walks and others have those cassettes which are somewhat daunting .
I have also re-recovered the Kiev 4 in tan, after I stopped it for some reason .
I would also love a Kiev IIIa advertised in black , which avoids the many K4a versions .
But it isn't gonna happen .
I kind like them en-masse .

Thanks to a Contax T2 which fetched silly money , I have also extended my analogue styled Fuijifilm collection to include an X-Pro2 .It's kinda like an X-Pro1 but a lot quicker .
Having said that coming from a Kiev and Panasonic L1 , the X-Pro1 seemed quick enough .
With the optical finder , plus a touch of guessing with the 27mm [40 odd in old money ]
It so reminiscent of my 'Kontaxes'.
Like the Kiev , it does not like zooms with the finder developing rangefinder type tunnel vision .LOL

Respect

Out of curiosity, is that the Kiev in your profile picture?
Is it chrome or silver paint where the black paint usually goes (next to the leather)?
