I'm looking to get an FD to Leica M body adapter for my GXR. Kipon seems to be one of the cheaper ones. Can anyone comment on the build quality of these? And will they focus past infinity and let me control the aperture?

Don't worry, be happy. If you did a search you would know Kipon makes nice mid range adapters. I have a Minolta MD to Sony Nex adapter and it works as advertised. Don't worry, be happy!

I ended up getting the Fotodiox FD-L(M) lens mount adapter. Haven't taken it out yet, but it seems that all lenses focus past infinity. I can work the aperture without any problems.

Now I need to figure out how to stick all my lens settings into all these custom slots. Ideally I would have a colour and a black and white setting for each lens. It's too bad that when I save my setting to the SD card it doesn't keep the name. It just names it after the date it was last saved it seems. So "Tokina B&W" turns into "2013-08-20 19:22" or whatever. Then when I look at the file on the SD card it's called "MYSET03.IFO"

If u are ok w/ taking the front section apart, it is pretty easy to shim most of these adapters. Just got to watch out for the spring mechanism for the lens latch.

Depending on how far off it is from infinity, anything from common aluminum foil to thin brass shim stuck u can find at hardware store like OSH, will do. Just cut some to basic shape of the ring, does not have to be perfect. Try and error, until u get infinity focus correct. Depending on the foal length of the lens depends on how far away u need to focus, but a min. Of about half mile should be ok. I use a electric power grid tower which is about 5 to 8 miles away from my home for anything over 50mm. Probably over kill.
