Klasse S

I have a Fujifilm Klasse S. Solid camera with high quality 38/2.8 lens. However, I find the shutter release button too tight. I have to press it hard to take a pic, and that'd be a problem when shooting in low light.

I'm not sure if this is just my camera. Any one else notice it?

It's normal. Mine feels kind of tight compared to other compacts I have too.

Depends how hard you need to press, I didn't find I had to press the shutter release on mine any harder than my Zeiss Ikon, not that I noticed anyway.

Mine feels fine, though it's the Rollei AFM35 (previous Klasse).

Out of curiosity, how does one set distance for scale focusing on the Klasse S/W?

Thanks for the responses. So it's probably typical of this camera then. It's a pity because I would have rated this camera much higher otherwise.

My Contax T2, G2, and Hexar AF all have excellent shutter buttons, perhaps that's why I'm not used to this. Too bad the old Contax T2 (which has similar specs) finally starts to have problem--once I half-press the button, the lens would keep moving back & forth as if it's constantly in the middle of focusing.

Oh well, I've shot only 3 rolls of films so far with my Klasse S. Maybe it just needs more exercise. 🙂

I press the black mode button on top till I see "AF" in the LCD, then dial, then I can see "MF" and distance being set.

my klasse is like this as well. The shutter button feels not as good as the GR1s, but half presses are still OK and I have no problems in actual use.

Another question about using Klasse:
When I tried to shoot at infinity, I had to press the mode to AF then dial to MF then dial till "Inf" appears in LCD. Is there any quicker way? And how do I quickly get it back to AF? I'm somewhat confused with the logic of its press/dial operation.

sorry didnt see your reply until now,

if you want to set your klasse to infinity focus really quickly, the earliest version Klasse (such as mine) uses the front dial as focusing indicator instead of exposure compensation.

maybe we should trade? 😀

kaiwa, ha, that's an idea. Maybe I'd prefer the original Klasse's way.
I chose the new Klasse S, just because of all those user reports about original Klasse with paint wear and even coating flaws around.
But several button-pushing to enter an important mode like infinity is not cool. That reminds me why I don't like Leica Minilux...
