Oh, man...Bultaco! Thanks, Larry! In high school, that was my dream as we lived out in the country until I graduated from high school. Many dreams about riding trail bikes, etc. back then but they never materialized. Until much later.:p

I have not even thought of the name (Bultaco) until you posted this Kodachrome image! That is what makes Kodachrome so special looking at images from 40 -80 years ago. I do wish the Kodak corporation had a presence here. All of your photos posted here is what the Kodak moment was sll about, memories captured in time.

When I pick up my own slides, not only do I remember taking the shots, but I am holding a physical image in my hand that was created at that particular moment and that image can be touched and seen by anyone for many years. Proof... Seeing through the eyes of others... It is rather magical, isn't it?:D

Dave,

That picture of the Bultaco was taken in Mississippi, so the color of the dirt is pretty accurate. Might be similar in color to some Georgia dirt:)

I agree, it is all in the timing for everything it seems. Like the "Decisive Moment" in the pool above. Kodachrome was used to document many things in World War II. We have exquisitely preserved images now that bear witness to those times.

To me, Kodachrome was FUN and it put the joy in Photography especially for those who projected them... hmmm, maybe not for those captive audiences in a weekend visit sometimes, LOL.

I will project some this weekend myself... outdoors in the backyard.:)

Speaking of timing go back and read about how the two gentleman who came up with Kodachrome figured out the timing of the process. Amazing stuff! :)

I have all of Mr W. K. Amonette's slides mostly Kodachromes, this is one of the few that didn't hold up very well. Taken in 1945 by W. K. Amonette.

Firstly, this is the most exciting thread I've seen on this forum.

Secondly, I think this image of the beautiful lady on the beach is right up there with the ikonic photo of Herb Alpert's Whipped Cream & Other Delights.

Lastly, I can't wait to see more!

All the best,
Mike
