400 TMY-2 in HC 110: What's your experience? I've only develop tri-x in HC110 dilution H, but am wondering how TMY-2 responds in this soup. Anyone have experience with this combo, and what temp, time, dilution and agitation are you using? I know Kodak recommends Dilution B 6.5 min @ 68 F with regular agitation at 1 min intervals. I'm wondering if a more diluted form of HC 110 does not actually increase grain in TMY-2.

Much appreciated,
Gonzalo

I used the Tmax 2-400 with HC110. Dilution was 1:60 (raw syrup) for 12 min. Amazing quality. looks like a 100 asa!
Go to Flickr and type in the tag Kodak Tmax2 400 and there should be plenty of samples too.

i am a big fan of hc 110 . i use the dilution b recommended by kodak . if you goggle hc 110 there are alot of different formulas and suggested times .

This was one of those great epiphanies, TMY-2 (200) in Rodinal 1+50 for 10 minutes, then in a second bath using 5.5 ml of Borax and making 500ml H2O. Letting the second bath stand for 3 minutes. I figured I could get the same result without the second bath just lower agitation and/or tweak the time, but I'm unfortunately back to 2 bath. This was taken with my Konica C35 (EI 200) in Mexico:

I wish I had my 6x7 when I did my 2009 Puerto Vallarta shots.

John: that's gorgeous! What happened when you tried the reduced agitation without the 2nd bath? Also, you wrote "ml" ... do you get your Borax in solution?

Earl, I just didn't get that wow factor. When I did it two bath the negatives just sparkled. Actually, I should have said 'cc' for ml. Ml. was written on my wife's measuring spoons. Anyway, I use 5.5ml (cc) ( one teaspoon is 5.0ml, so just a little more) of Twenty Mule Team Borax then add 500 cc. of hot water. I cool it down to the working temp and use.
