All long as TriX doesnt show up on this list I'm good. Though I used to use Ektachrome for photographing artists' work.

Always the GREAT films, Kodak decides to part with, first it was
Kodachrome 25 then Kodak "Extra Color" 100 now it`s EPR 64........this is/was one of my favorite slide films to shoot in my M6
*Im glad I read this I`m going to act on it and start collecting it all now*
No more high quality Slide Film will be available from Kodak anymore, (and I dislike Fujichrome) so this looks like the beginning of the end for Kodak slide
I`m going to STOCK up on this stuff, it`s kickass slide film

I'm stocking up on HIE. Any other IR film recommendations? HIE was the best as far as I'm concerned.

Forgive my ignorance on slide developing, but does this have any impact on being able to get the slide film developed? Are the chemicals the same for other slide film? This is indeed bad news for those of us who still love to shoot slides. I've long predicted that slide film would be the first to go. Glad there's still other slide films out there, but still, it does make you nervous.

Forget about HIE - it blows compared to Rollei infrared. Check out the IR photos near the bottom of my first gallery page. I also started a thread about this film a little while back. It's fantastic and I'm a believer!NickTrop said:

I do agree with you on the speed at which Kodak seems to ditch films. The old ones like 100 PLUS and Ektachrome 100 and Ektachrome 64 seemed to be around for like 20 years while a parade of newer ones came and went along side the old ones. I notice 100 PLUS is not on the discontinued list and its another oldie. Yet We have seen E100S and E100SW, Lumiere and Lumiere X, and other come and go. I rather liked Lumiere which was around when I was in high school.

Kodak might decide to pull the plug on film altogether one of these quarters. But Fuji will likely make Neopan 400 (Presto), 1600 (Super Presto) and Acros until most of us die, and probably beyond....
(and maybe even 100SS, or was that discontinued supposedly years ago? Oh, it's still available, never mind)

Well, see my use of slide is quite different than everyone elses, I use them for
Crossprocessing......E6 to C41 and it takes some getting used to a film to get it "just right" and it`s a damm shame EPR 64 is going to go, while after EPX 100 it was the BEST film to take on some Crossprocessing
Here`s some samples of my style in CP in another thread, shot with a vintage Canon IIF2 and f1.8 50mm with some expired Extachrome 100 and a pretty lil PinUp model

Apparently not everone in Kodak read the results of their own recent poll on film use. This is why I don't rely on any Kodak products. I use some but as "fillers".

Thanks for the compliment on my shots. I have never tried crossprocessing. Its a cool technique I see used a lot for fasion/model work like you did but I never seemed to find something that would work well for it in the things I like to shoot. I should try it sometime soon while the film that works for it is still on the shelves!
