Hiya,

Over the past few months I have discovered EBX (after realising it was pretty much E100VS) and absolutely love the stuff. I still like Velvia but I find this has a very much different tone altogether, perhaps slightly warmer in some respects (typical to Kodak with its warmer yellow-red hues, vs. blue-green hues of Fuji) -- however I have seen some threads, but only as recent as last year saying that EBX has been discontinued.

It's still on Kodak's website, and I can still find it easily on 7dayshop.com (I'm in the UK) but I was just wondering, has Kodak really discontinued this film?

It's just a bit cheaper to shoot than E100VS.

Any info would be appreciated 🙂

Not sure if it's officially still made, but they do have it @ Adorama here in the U.S.:

Thanks, the things I had heard was it being 'discontinued quietly' in the US.

I'm just wondering if I should be buying up a large quantity of the stuff in case.

I'll see if I can email Kodak, I've just noticed that from wherever I've sourced EBX lately, they've all had 12/2009 expiries on the boxes.

For all I know, it might already be discontinued in the U.S., as Adorama is the only place I know of that sells it (perhaps via import from Europe or elsewhere). There are a few emulsions that Kodak doesn't sell in the U.S., but continues to sell overseas; some were never sold in the U.S to begin with (I recall "ProImage" 100 ISO C41 film being 1 of those).
