Just received my first Ektar 100 film back from the developers - all the shots have excessive blue and the greens have a yellow tinge - anyone else had this problem?🙁
I shot a dozen rolls of Ektar the other week and all of the colours came out very well. I am sorry to hear about your experience. Thus far, my own experience with this film has been very positive.
Do you mean they scanned them, after development, and then produced a photo, or did the develop them and did old fashiion paper prints? I haven't had a problem and I get mine developed at Costco. Here is one from my first roll:
I have had a similar problem with my local pro developer on more than one roll of film (though not on all shots) and have quit using the stuff. Happy enough with Portra.

I just picked up a developed roll this afternoon. While I've not scanned this negatives, the prints the lab did look as good, or maybe better, than what I saw in real life. If my negatives look as good after I scan them as the prints do, then I'm really pleased with this film.
Many thanks to all who responded about my EKTAR problem - I think that the fault may lie with my local developing shop - they are really only interested in digital and I think that their constantly changing staff have little understanding of film. Anyway, I will try another roll and send it to a different shop.
is the prints that are a problem or the scanned negs? I have had two rolls done so far at two different labs (Walgreens and North Coast Photo) and I am very pleased with both.
It could be as simple as your shop not having the correct "profile" for Ektar when they print it. I remember back in the days, when I would drop off Kodak 160VC for 4x6 prints and they looked horrible. I then printed the ones I wanted to blow up in my own darkroom and they looked great. Ektar 100 is a great film. Try a different lab next time.
If you looked at the film (that is what development entails) and it looked blue (excessively, oh my) something is dreadfully wrong. Do look back at the film, please.
If the prints/scans were excessively wrong it is the fault of the processor/lab. NOT the film.
Took my latest film to a different developing/printing shop - result was just perfect! If you are ever in South Island, New Zealand, I will tell you which lab NOT to go to! Thanks for all the advice.🙂
