I live near Freestyle. I walked in and bought a couple rolls
yesterday. I asked the fellow behind the counter if he thought
any 120 size may be coming. He smiled and said, "Maybe next
year." He spoke cautiously but he seemed to be saying "Yes"
basically (whatever that may be worth).

Ok!
I look forward to try the film. Could be interesting to see a 4000 dpi quality scan in 100% (e.g. a small crop). In this resolution grains are visible I guess?
It scans nicely, but there is still visible grain on my CS9000 (and the Howtek scans posted earlier)

Here is a photo taken in India recently, and its accompanying 100% crop.
My film actually had a slight Magenta cast when scanned- some of it is still visible. I wonder if this has to do with having gone through 9 airports before developing, although I used a Lead bag to keep it in.
Otherwise, the film shows average density, great tonal range, normal contrast, and almost no grain.

John, my understanding is that Ektachrome was a bit blue so that it would yield correct colours when projected. Subhash, I'm waiting for a suitable Big Occasion to try out the roll of Ektar you gave me.

I have looked through the thread and haven't seen this here yet... so excuse me if I double post this news: 7dayshop.com are listing Ektar 100 now for pre-order with stock coming in hopefully by the end of November/start of December.

Better still they're doing it at £2.85 a roll *delivered* so you could get a nice 5 rolls for under £15 and have them posted for that.
I'm going to order a couple tonight, along with more film that really if I looked in the fridge I would know I don't need any more, but hey ho

Nordfoto.de is selling 5 rolls for under 20 Euro. Maybe a good deal for European buyers

I received two rolls from Pictureline, and eight from Freestyle. I don't recommend Pictureline, as i ordered it to take on vacation, and they shipped on a small portion of what i ordered, and never told me the balance was backordered. Didn't find out until i received the two pieces, and i had to scramble (and pay rush shipping charges) to get it from Freestyle. Anyway....
I'm scanning the results now. I'm VERY happy with it. The grain is very fine, and it scans pretty easily. There's none of that 'fine white speck' stuff going on, like i usually see in C41 neg scans. Looks more like a low/medium contrast slide film, in a way. I'm processing the images a bit, so they don't look like the original scans, but i'll eventually put up some 'straight' scans on my flickr page:

I think i'll be shooting this stuff instead of Reala from now on.

I like this film very much. Glad I got 9 rolls of it at B&H with my Sandisk memory card rebate

This was taken with my new Olympus OM-2n and Zuiko 24mm/f2.8.

Looks good, I'm down to my last roll, time to get more. No 120 yet, though.

How does this film do skin tones? I am going to WI and AZ this summer for a family events, and would like an all around outdoor color film for my Pen FT. I am debating between this film and Reala. People will probably be more of a focus than landscape for my travels.

navilluspm, even Kodak does not recommend this film for portraits. They say go to one of their Portra films. And I agree, I found skin to be a little pink with Ektar100. The other colors a great as you can see in the image posted by mitch8261 post #154

I finally got a roll of Ektar through.
These are using an old Balda Baldessa rangefinder that I wanted to exercise. Excuse the lack of artistic merit. I was just out quickly looking for colorful things to point at.

! These are amazing scans - Michel, Steve, and others. Very smooth grain and tonality.

I think that is one of the hidden beauties of this film. The results are so smooth, it has a slide film look.

Those are the colours I've been looking for -- wonderfully natural! I've ordered 20 rolls...

Just ordered 11 rolls from Freestyle.
Are you guys refrigerating this stuff and are you shooting at box speed?
I don't burn through film as fast as some of you
