Hi, I have just got myself a Retina IIc, in lovely condition, looks to be very little used and everything is working sweetly, the viewfinder though is in need of a clean but the rangefinder patch is very clear, there is only one screw on the film transport side, and the film winder knob to be taken off, is there anything else I should be aware of when removing the top after removing the screw and knob, I was thinking particularly of the film counter mechanism? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks

It takes mroe than removing that one screw to pop the top of a REtina. Google around (hint: Chris Sherlock) and you'll find more information.

When you get into it, be careful to notice the direction of hte parts, especially the viewfinder lenses. Be careful to NOT rub the parts with the frameline or the mirror. Other than that it is relatively easy to clean it up and you'll enjoy it much more with a brighter view.

There are two screws under the rewind knob to be taken off. That, and the one screw on the winder side. That is all. Be very careful of the shutter release and reset switch (next to shutter release). Those will fall off if you turn the camera over. The eyepiece comes out with the one screw holding the metal frame in place. Mark the outer side of the eyepiece with a marker so you get it back in the correct way.

Thanks for the input guys, thankyou Brian for the warning, that is what I was after, I've had a look at Chris Sherlocks site and should be OK now, many thanks..
