If we're going to consider selfish motives would it not then be similarly possible that censorship of a potential tool to help fight the virus would be an effective way to ensure the current administration isn't re-elected come November? Considering the sheer level of constant vitriol toward the current administration from the US media in the last few years I don't think it's an unreasonable potentiality to consider.

Again, I prefer to stay impartial with this level of politicisation, but the way in which this HCQ thing is being handled seems off to me.

It has nothing to do with not liking a particular publication, and I don't believe every idea has the same value as another. Do you consider the President's recommendation of shoving an ultraviolet light up your anus to cure Covid-19, or possibly injecting yourself with bleach/disinfectant to cure Covid-19, are those all part of the "free exchange of ideas?"

Here is Healight- a Cedar Sinai therapeutic involving introducing UV light into a trachea tube (or in the colon). This is real, and not sure whether it will pan out or not, but it is being looked at.

Ok, fine. I just showed you actual medical technology designed to do that (AYTU, Cedar-Sinai Healight). But Trump did not mention the anus! That was clearly political spin-meistering. I knew exactly what you were referring to, and heard the day he said it. He flubbed it a little, ok, but there were some ideas buried in there, and Healight started getting discussed a day or two later, and I suspect Trump may have heard about it during the meeting the day he spoke, but that is speculation on my part.

The vast proportion of pharmaceuticals in the USA are imported, correct? While it may be an unusual business deal, I can understand the administrations push to be self-sufficient in something as crucially important as medicine, especially in the face of a worldwide pandemic where hundreds of thousands have perished and medical supplies have bottlenecked. With Fujifilm's huge Pharma division it makes at least some sense to consider Kodak for a similar roll, their prior financial mismanagement notwithstanding.

And forgive me for not simply regurgitating CNNs POVs.

I will continue to post because what happens to Kodak is very important to "Photography General Interest". I will continue (I know I am not perfect) to try and stay on topic regarding Kodak transitioning to include pharmaceuticals as part of its business. It will be very interesting to see what happens to their photographic output- do they spin it off? Do they continue it? Maybe they spin off Kodak Pharmaceuticals, but continue Kodak the photographic company. We are all adults, and I think we can handle this.
