Koni omega lens/shutter question

So i recently picked up a box of assorted camera “junk” from an auction for next to nothing, going through it i came across this koni-omega 90mm hexanon. At the time i had no clue what it was for, but after a little digging I figured out it was for a MF rangefinder that, honestly, didnt even know existed. Since i’ve been on a bit of a RF kick recently, I looked for, and picked up a cheap Rapid body.

Now i probably should have done my research or looked into it a little before i jumped in and ordered a body, but i cant seem to ever see the shutter blades. At first i wondered if it had to be attached to the body or something like that, but without a back on, I can clearly see completely through the lens when i “fire” the shutter. I’m wondering how the shutter is supposed to work, i feel like i probably shouldn’t be able to see clear through the lens no matter what. I think i will probably have to open the lens up to get a better look at what’s going on, just wondering if anyone had any insight or could possibly link me to a repair manual so I have a frame of reference as to what i’m looking at vs what i should be looking at. I dont feel too bad about cracking this one open, simply because i dont have much invested in the lens.

So you're saying that the shutter is always open? It's probably stuck, not an unlikely scenario given the fact it is a leaf shutter. Probably due to lubrication from the focus helical getting on the blades.

It would have to be opened up to completely clean out the old lubricant, remove the grease from the shutter and aperture blades, and then re-lube the helical with a synthetic so it won't migrate anymore.

You can order a repair manual online, but it doesn't really tell you how to do the job, just shows some breakdown drawings so you can figure out what part goes where.

Mine's boxed up right now, so I can't go over some things with you, and I've switched computers but not transferred the files over yet. One possibility is someone used the self timer, and the shutter stuck open when that malfunctioned. You should be able to set and release the shutter with the lens off the camera. You could somehow trip the shutter closed by turning the speed selector ring, but do it gingerly. If it feels too tight, then let it be.

I tried about a year ago, and after calling got his answering machine which makes feel like he is a bit perturbed about scam callers, and he never called me back after I left two messages a couple days apart. The I got busy with something else, and kind of let the subject drop. Maybe he's feeling better these days.

BTW, if you couldn't see "clear through the lens no matter what", then how are you supposed to be able to expose the film? It has to open some time.
