Koni-Omega/Rapid Omega questions

After some (not so much) thinking got one - Koni Omega Rapid M.
Did the outer clutch maintenance and changed the seals on the back.
Cleaned the rangefinder. I'll have a roll through it today.

Got a couple of questions though:

1. It doesn't have self-timer, right? Or I'm really dumb and can't find it...

2. Does anyone have the proper procedure for adjusting the rangefinder? On it's little sibling the Auto S2 I do it, as usual, at infinity and works great. But I'm not sure for the Koni, being a interchangeable lens system and all...

3. The camera/back came without a dark slide. Can I take off the lens without inserting a darkslide first? I'd rather ask then break it trying to do something that's not supposed to happen.

4. Any recommendation for a cable release. I mean besides a Koni original - something I can order on-line or find at a local shop (well, I can try it if it's local) .
The one I have works fine with my 35mm gear but it's not long and strong enough for the Koni.

1. If there's a self timer (and I can't remember offhand), it would be on the lens, since these are lens shutter cameras.

2. To get at the rangefinder you can simply remove the entire top cover -- the screws are easily accessible (including one that you can only get at by removing the camera back). But the horizontal adjustment can be done by removing the small disk on the lower righthand side of the top cover. Use a pin spanner to do this. I believe the vertical adjustment screw is reached if you take off the middle accessory shoe, but I'm not 100% sure of that.

3. You do need a dark slide in order to remove the lens, so I wouldn't even try otherwise.

4. I haven't tried a cable release with mine, but I'm surprised that a standard one isn't sufficient.

I am impressed that you did the clutch maintenance and replaced the seals -- definitely not for beginners! You will love this camera.

I didn't do the inner clutch as I didn't have a butane torch to unsolder the tee (don't know the proper name - you know what I mean), just the outer one. I'm not the greatest on fine mechanics, but I've managed to resurrect a few Konica Auto S2s, an Yashica GSN and worked a few little basic things on OM cameras (removing the dreaded prism foam).
They might have a few "love marks" after that, but they work and give me even more pleasure using them 🙂

As for 2.)
I know where the screws are. What I don't know is if the procedure is the same - adjust at infinity and that's all. Even more - I can see a screw on the inside on the focusing knob that seems to be adjustable in order to change/move the range of motion of the focusing knob itself adding more variables to the equasion...

I guess the cable release I had was of the "extra weak" variety - the two kinds I found in a local shop worked just fine.
