Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses

It's already over $2k, probably because it's screw mount and M8 owners can used a coded adapter. Boy, has that camera ruined RF photography, or what? :bang: :D

I hardly think that the owner of the 50mm lenses below is guilty (small sample of his collection)? I've met the owner once and I think he is a true Leicaphile.

Prices I thought are simply driven by market forces.

Wouldn't it be better if you lined them up ? Be easier to see difference in sizes. The way this shot is - hard to tell much.

The photo was an older one. I will post one next week.

Thank you for the pic !. I really officially hate you now! ;) What a collection! Can I borrow those two Hexes? ;)

But seriously now, is it me, or Hex 60 is at least the same, or maybe even smaller that Hex 50/1.2? Or it just looks that way on a photo?

Oh and since you are so lucky to have both Hex's, Could you be so kind to maybe make some shots with both to see how they compare side by side - bokeh, sharpness, etc? Now that I know you have both - I'll keep bugging you for more Hex pics till I get one for myself ;) (if ever)

The Hex is smaller in size. The filter diameter is 58mm for the 60mm vs the 62mm of the 50mm. Also, close focusing is 0.8 vs 0.9 for the 60mm and 50mm respectively.

Yes, the 60mm Hexanon really isn't that big considering what it is - I mean one isn't paying a huge weight/size penalty with it. It balances very well on the RD-1 or a Leica M camera, in my opinion.

I could happily carry it around as my "all around" normal, except that I like a camera that fits in a (large) coat pocket, hence the 50mm Elmar-M.

I hope to post some pictures OF the 60mm on a Leica M3 sometime, i just haven't had the time yet (I have 3 kids under 7 years old ...)

No problem. The UV/IR filters just came in yesterday and I will take one of the Hex for a spin tomorrow. Pity, the cap does not fit now, and I'm off later to get two lens caps.

@krosya - i want that 60mm/1.2 as well! you should get it before it reaches the noctilux stratosphere. or maybe it happened already!

Hacker, these photos are stunning !!!! Thanks for posting these. It seems that the 50/1.2 shows less vignetting in the corners compared with the Noctilux, when used at full aperture. Is this due to the software of the M8 ?
