I recently purchased a Konica Auto S3 and now have the first photos. After the Yashica Electro 35 the view finder is much brighter and clearer - about a 200% difference! (maybe the Yashica needs to be cleaned?). Focusing is so easy, you don't have to put your eye in just the right spot to see the split image. The cameras size is amazing - there is no excuse for not carrying this camera. Because the sensor for the light meter is just above the lens you can screw on a yellow filter and take B&W photos without a seconds thought about filter factors. The Hexanon lens looks as though it is performing well - I have not tried taking photos with a tripod yet to see its true worth - hand held looks good so far.

How do you think it compares to your Yashica? I like the first shot. Even viewing it on my laptop, the middle gray tones are nice. Phil

Phil, at the time I took the photo I posted, I also took a photo with my Yashica (I am trying to compare the lenses for sharpness, tonal quality). They were taken on Kodak CN 400 b&w film and were taken within 5 minutes of each other. You can have a look for yourself and see what you think.
The Konica photo is portrait, the Yashica is landscape.

OOPS!! forgot! I have a yellow filter on the Konica - this would account for the big difference between the photos.

D'oh!
Were they exposed the same??? The Konica exposure looks perfect whereas the Yashica seems overexposed.

Ahh. An explaination for the difference!
