Konica C35 Automatic for 10 €

Got this cute little thing today and it cost only 10 € !

Does anyone have any experience with this camera?

My first camera. Focus and shoot. Excellent lens and very compact. No manual controls (change ASA to vary exposure). You can lock exposure by pressing half-way down on shutter button. The X100 of its day... and not far off today.

It has a great lens, and if the meter works it is an absolute gem of a camera. Watch out for degraded foam light seals, and replace them if necessary. With the shutter and aperture being "naked" to the film plane, bits of sticky foam can easily find their way to where they don't belong and cause major or fatal damage.

I found one of these little puppies a few weeks ago and still need to finish off a roll, so I can't say for sure if it's awesome or ordinary.
It handled nice and the range finder is easy to focus with though.

I need to shoot the last few shots.

My first RF given to me when I was ten, many years ago - I still have it & it still works. I also have a black one & a V which is scale focus. I love em. Also have an S3 which everyone raves about, but I personally prefer the C35 & have had more sucess with them.

They're very nice little cameras. The backs are packed with foam and rather messy to clean and re-foam. You'll need to use a 675 hear-aid battery. Once serviced, you have an excellent everyday shooter.

I like mine so much, I went and got the 'Automatic' version, and am looking for a 'V' later on. Just to have the complete trio. But it is an excellent shooter for it's size. Good to have along on my walks.

My first rangefinder also. Sold it when I "upgraded" to a T3 - regretted that very much. Got 3 different C35s now - and yes they are in use when I am not exercising my FSU cameras.

Meter is very precise and will do fine with slides.

Suppose you are aware of the meter lock (pressing down the shutter release half way)?

The lens is great and the body is well made and handles well. It's the best bang for the buck I can think of.

I know I've posted, but a story. Forty years ago my friends and I went to Central America, we were all excited because big trips were rare in those days. I took my Pentax Spotmatic F/1.4 and one of the others had his Minolta brand new SLR. The lowly last guy had a Konica C35. When we got back to Panama' we had a slide show with all the women we knew. The SLRs were not better, in fact, the ease of the Konica C35 was obvious. His slides 'on the run' were much better than ours. Sometimes lessons are learned the hard way. This is from my recent stuff but what a great albeit a poorly made camera; Ireland:

After the Central American trip, I immediately purchased a C35, and I still have one my fourth.
