Konica C35 Reassembly

In the process of reassembling a C35 after doing a wire repair, and am not sure as to how the levers should mate up with the front plate. I put it back on, but can't make out that anything is happening when the focus and GN rings are turned (such as the rangefinder actuator rising or falling). Is there a trick to putting the front plate back on?

Got to looking at the front plate again last night before going to bed, and I figured it out.

1: Set the Selector Ring to B before seating the Front Plate. To check the Shutter function, push the lever that is next to the Tripod Socket to the left (this charges the Shutter), and trip the shutter on B and regular settings.

2: There is a Plunger that operates the Rangefinder. I didn't know what its function was until I reinstalled it, as it had fallen out during disassembly before I could determine its use. Or I just forgot.

Pink, I saw your thread from a while ago about the little metal piece, and specifically took a photo of where it goes (top left of the lens). I should get the photos posted sometime this weekend, but nothings gone according to plan all week, so why should Saturday and Sunday be any different?

i follow the steps and get my rangefinder back to live!--still don't understand what that mysterious metal piece is for...but i'll just glue it back anyway.

the bug on my mind for months are now gone!
what a relief!

next i am gonna figure out how to re-solder those wires back...😀

Pink, glad you are on the way to getting the C35 back together. When soldering the wires, use as fine a tip as you can get on a low wattage iron, flux the connections before soldering (preferably using thin silver solder), then clean the connections with alcohol to remove the excess flux.

...after a day, the Rodinol dried out and the rangefinder mechanic frozen up again...🙁 guess i have to work it up a bit more...

It would be a good idea to clean all the old lube off the levers, and apply a sparingly small amount of lithium to them.

Hi,

I am in process of rebuilding Porst 135L camera similar to this one. There are lots of small issues that I will easily fix, but some of them are worrying me.
Camera was obliviously dropped because ISO ring and its holder are bent. I hope to reshape it and that it will be OK.
Now, I need your help here... film winding spool (part where film is being wound) has two concentric plastic parts. Inner one has gear mesh on top and has galled (and was tampered heavily):

My only hope is to rebuild metal piece which I would replace on top of the plastic part replacing only meshed region.
Could you please provide me with correct dimensions of that part and also pictures?

Also B (bulb) mode doesn't seem to work... shutter both opens and closes at pressing button.

I'll give you the same answer I gave you on Flickr, Dan. Go buy a parts camera, and strip it for the spool and whatever else is damaged.
