Well-known
Hi there,
after a lovely IIIM was sold here, my GAS tells me to try and get one.
Well, I try to convince myself that I need a relatively inexpenssive camera with a fixed lens to carry around, the lens is praised, I like old meterless cameras etc.. (the rest is for the shrink 🙂)
Anyway, there are a few models and I try to make up my mind. The IIIM looks very bulky to me, and I don't need the meter, which I understood that doesn't work anyhow. The IIIA looks beautiful in the photos but the III looks smaller and nicer.
I coundn't figure out the differences between the 50/1.8 lens and the 48/2 lens. 48/2 is good enough for me, but is it indeed an inferior lens as Dante Stella says? He also says that the III model are a bit less reliable and more difficult to fix, is that true?
looking at picutres of the cameras- the IIIM and IIIA have three windows at their front and the III have only two. Does it mean that the III don't have framelines at all? Dante Stella mentions that the framelines of the IIIM and IIIA are highly sophisticated, compansating etc.
Lastly, if any of you knows where these cameras can be bought (outside ebay) and CLA'd I'd be happy to know.
Of course, if someone has such a camera and want to sell it, I'd be happy
Thanks and Shabat Shalom
