Anyone have images taken by this masterpiece of industrial art?
I'm curious about its Hexanon 48/2. I read that it's a planar type lens.

if it is anything like the 50 it will be great! Hexanon lenses are as good as anyone ever needs.

All Konica RF cameras have superb lenses. I have the I, II, III, and IIIM. My III also has the same lens as yours.

Dante Stella had a short pc about this cam here: http://www.dantestella.com/technical/koni3.html
I've always thought it was a cool looking camera.

This one is quite beat up. Landed on its noggin and bent the top in breaking the glass covering the film counter.
But after having been rode hard it's still kickin. Shutter sounds reasonably accurate. I calibrated the rangefinder and checked the front focus. Seems fine.
Tough little camera. I'm really impressed with the ergonomics.
The left hand winder is very comfortable. The shutter button has
a very smooth reassuring feel to it, without being a hair trigger.
It is heavy, though I can't say where the weight is coming from.
Looking under the hood, I'd say the rangefinder assembly is fairly spartan and well constructed.
The Konica III handles really well. It just feels nice. No sharp edges. Smooth and solid.
I'm shooting a roll of drug store 200 in it at the moment and I'm actually expecting it to perform well, though the front lens is lightly scratched, I doubt it'll make a difference.
This must not be such a common camera. I'm not finding many photos taken by it. Raid has a nice series of a blue water beach and there are a couple others
out there, but nothing like the Yashica G's or the later Konica S's
I have to say though, I find the Konica III to be considerably nicer in form than the later Konicas.

I have just come out of the darkroom from printing a couple of negs from my IIIa (50mm lens) I'm always surprised how nice they look!. These lenses are beautiful, who needs a leica when you have a camera as good as this for a couple of hundred dollars! everything about them is good, especially the lens and the viewfinder.

Here's a shot from the Konica III I took yesterday in stealth mode,
without lifting the camera to my eye.

Thank you,Jack. It was taken with the first roll in my Konica III. It is amazingly sharp.

I like your stealth photos. You seem to have figured out how to take photos that way.

Thanks... they're basically just snapshots.I like your stealth photos. You seem to have figured out how to take photos that way.
I really love the "idea" of street photography, though. It's a philosophical and psychological adventure into human nature. Mostly my own nature, of course.

Well, I don't actually own this camera. I was just giving it a tune up and calibrated the horizontal on the rangefinder. It's a beater and has a dented top with cracked glass over the counter dial, but shoots well, as you can see.
Probably not a very good collector piece, but if you want it, I could buy it for you for not a lot of money, though shipping would likely cost near as much as the camera.

If started to use III (pictures with tags on my flickrstream) but need to sort out issue with release button - when slightly depressed (but not fully) - it locks and shutter can't be released other ways than by moving small cog on lens barrel. I've read other people have had this too.

Possibly similar, my IIIA has an unfortunate habit of resetting the shutter if I'm anything less than forthright in pressing the release button.
It's not a flaw, it's 'character'.
