I picked up one of these the other day and noticed that the RF patch is rather dim. I'm wondering if this patch can be renewed?
if so, what would be the cost and who can do it?
Thanks a lot,
Bill

Some general thoughts here: It's possible the entire RF/VF could be carefully cleaned; that might brighten everything up. But if that doesn't work, then you'd have to see if you can replace the glass with the semi-silvered surfaces -- finding a suitable replacement piece may prove difficult. Alternatively, people have had good results with darkening the front surface of the viewfinder directly in front of the RF patch, so that the RF image stands out better. People have used a permanent marker, or found some sort of tinted tape to stick on the front glass.

A piece of blank negative over the main viewfinder window works very well for this on the IIIa.Some general thoughts here: It's possible the entire RF/VF could be carefully cleaned; that might brighten everything up.
