L A noir, great forum for old Los Angeles photos

The clarity, sharpness and depth of field in that first picture....wow! Many of the photos on this post were shot with flash (I assume that all were shot on film as well), and they look just great. I like film noir myself. Those movies were almost always shot on B&W film, and many of the cinematographers were geniuses at getting stunning image quality in low light shots and on tight budgets. Considering the shots above were shot in a hurry and in whatever light there was, with or w/o a flash, is remarkable.

That's a great web site. I've been going to it for years and learned a lot. The people who post there are very interesting.
 
Oh man, that thread bring back memories.

It will take you weeks to look at most of that too.
And some place in it is a photo I took of the Ennis House Guest House.
