Label on FED 3 Box

Hi,

There's a price label printed on the base of my FED 3 box and one word I can't make sense of; it says (with my interpretation):-

Фотоаппарат ФЕД 3Л - Camera FED 3L

(курковй) - (Kurkova)

Цена 47 руб - Price 47 Roubles

The question is, what does Kurkova mean?

It looks like a reference to a town or surname to me but why...

Can any one help, please?

BTW, it was first sold on the 27th June 1969 and I've the original receipt etc, quite fascinating.

Yes, I would put my money on a town but what's the link? There's so many spellings when going from Cyrillic to Latin and I've not got a Berne List available any more...

Can you check the spelling again? The last letter should have another just like it (except for the diacritical mark above it) right before. Also, if the initial k wasn't capitalized, then it wouldn't be a proper name, like that of a city.

Thanks I wondered about that and wondered if it was a Ukrainian variation. It's a long long time since I learnt Russian...
