I noted a light leak while using a J-12 on my Kiev4, eventually I discovered it was the spring above the sprocket shaft and used more black paper and fitted some foam as Russ P...beck suggests - thanks Russ.
While looking for this cause I noted that both my J-12s had bevels on the rear element, and that these bevels 'glowed' when the lens had a light source just out of frame. Earlier J-12s with a metal barrel over the rear element don't have this bevel.
So I painted the bevels with acryilc black board paint using a fine camel hair brush and great care, to avoid covering any of the hard coated lens area.
This will not turn your J-12 into a Nikon high contrast 35mm, merely more like a rear metal barrel J12 variant - my J12s are full of bubbles and other flare sources, but it should help - a little.

PS apologies to Russ if he has recommended this already...

I think I mention the trick about retouching the paint on the sides of lens elements some place. Come to mention it, I did paint the bevel area of my J-12 but never highlighted that in my J-12 document. Good idea, I think I should update that document.
Cheers,
