POSTSCRIPT
"Minutes to Midnight" sold out in a week - the price has gone up from the £18 Amazon price to £180!! Not sure why Parke's books are so sought after - I know he's a brilliant photographer but...

I had "Minutes to Midnight" on pre-order at Amazon UK ,........ it still is !!!
Obviously sold to the sharks who are re-selling already.

For my birthday, which was just a few days ago, my girlfriend gave me W. Eugene Smith Photographs 1934-1975. It's a HUGE book with hundreds of well reproduced photographs, as well as historical notes, and essays by Gabriel Bauret, John T. Hill, Giles More, Serge Tisseron, and Alan Trachtenberg. So it's fun to read and well as look at the pictures.

Its a different book, the newly published one is the first one. I guess one of the reason Trent Parke is so popular right now is that he struck a chord with a lot of people who is interested with street photography. Not to mention that Minutes of Midnite it is probably one of the most well known work of his.

On another note, I recently just add the Anticorps book by Antoine D'agata to my small library.

The small one is catalogue brochure for Paris Photo.

Hi,

A Christmas present "Retromania" with the sub-title "The Funkiest Cameras of Photography's Golden Age" by Lawrence Harvey. About an eclectic collection of cameras with not a Leica in sight and some unpopular ones as well. Plus adverts and so on with prices from the times they were bought and other odds and ends. Recommended.

Regards, David

Josef Sudek....The Legacy of a Deeper Vision..edited by Maia-Mari Sutnik....this is a Christmas gift...you can never have too many books of Sudek's photographs ,well worth a google search.......regards,Bill

I picked up a couple of books with gift cards from Christmas. The Adobe Photoshop Book for Digital Photographers for Versions CS6 and CC by Scott Kelby and from a clearance table by the checkout area,
500 Cameras - 170 Years of Photographic Innovation by Todd Gustavson. This book features 500 cameras from the George Eastman House collection.

I wanted the first for a reference and guide for CS6. The latter just looked interesting and was a bargain for less than $10.

The last photo book I bought was "Genesis" by Salgado, and I was recently offered the mostly forgettable "National Geographic - The Photographs".

from some recommendation on this forum, I ordered "Photography Q&A: Real Questions. Real Answers" by Zack Arias.
Great read and I like Zack.

Still waiting for "Elliot Erwitt Snaps" to arrive, according to Amazon, it will be mailed between January-February

Just picked up this Canon Rangefinder book- good read and facts about bodies and lenses. The "L" series cameras are not included- must be because they were primarily for the Japanese home market.
