My copy of The Decisive Moment arrived on Christmas Eve but I only got a chance to look at it yesterday. It's a privilege to have a copy of that book.

Anywhere else have the decisive moment in stock?
I just received my copy of The Decisive Moment from The Book Depository, based in London. I ordered on 12/17, it was shipped on 12/22, and received the book on 12/31.
They show the book as still available, though for slightly more than I paid. http://www.bookdepository.com/Henri-Cartier-Bresson-Henri-Cartier-Bresson/9783869307886
In fact, I just sent them an email, as they messed up the order somehow and instead of sending my one book, they sent me 1 box of books. So, I have 5 copies of Steidl reprint of The Decisive Moment...until I hear back from them on whether or not they want to send me a shipping label to send the other 4 books back.

The person I've known longer than any other currently on this planet sent me the 1968 edition of "The World of Henri Cartier Bresson." Out of the blue for no particular reason.
Thanks, Judy!
Our mothers were friends. We first met 71 years ago when I was one month old.

I just bought 100 pounds of photo magazines. There were LHSA Viewfinder magazines from the first issue until 2005, Minicam magazines rom the 40's and Popular Photography from the 50's until the 80's. I found one magazine dated 1908. That should provide hours of entertainment through the winter months.

Just got my reply from The Book Depository.
They told me to keep all 5 copies they sent me. Expect a couple to show up in the classifieds here.

The Mexican Suitcase, ICP at a steep discount - from a tip from an RFF member. There is a recent thread but can't find it at the moment.
Some of my favorite photographers (Capa, Taro, Chim) and one of the most important and interesting periods (Spanish Civil War.)

After viewing the movie, "Monuments Men," I bought the book, "The Rape of Europa," which tells a lot about those in positions of power and authority during WWII and their views toward Europe's art.

I haven't purchased a photography book in a few years. My collection includes ~ 100 of my favorite photographers. I plan on going through each page soon (again). Since then I've added ~ 200 books on other subjects of research interest. Regards -

I've recently bought and/or been given for Christmas the following:
Sune Jonsson: Life and Work. This is a beautiful monograph of the photographer's work in rural Sweden during the 1950s-1970s. There are a number of parallels with the better known (at least to me) UK photographer James Ravilious who also sensitively documented a rural community over many years.
A Vanessa Winship monograph published to coincide with a recent Spanish retrospective. This is a well printed book that covers (in decent depth) her career to date and shows a photographer pretty much at the top of her game. The book is almost worth it alone for a tiny handful of landscapes which I hadn't seen before taken in Winship's native Humberside.
I also received the reprint of The Decisive Moment (though the Book Depositary only sent me the one copy
). I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it. Like most people I'm familiar with most of the photographs in the book but I hadn't previously seen a copy of the book itself and my initial thoughts are that it is, in football parlance, a real game of two halves (my preference being for the sequence in the first half). The Matisse cover though is very beautiful.

I'm looking to add this two books too. I only start to read more about Sune Jonsson when Life and Work is launched. I have read some reviews on it and I already like some of the work. I have the Vanessa Winship She dances on Jackson but not her earlier works. Looking forward to both copy.
