Having the words: "THE LENS AND FINDER ARE NOT INCLUDED." in RED right under the photo is not unethical IMO. In fact he wrote it TWICE in the same large size and in RED in two different places both times under the photo of the camera. If someone was stupid enough to bid on it thinking the lens and VF were included they deserve what they got. It's not like he tried to hide the fact that the lens and VF were not included!

I agree about the ethics to a point... I think the buyer thought he was getting the lens too. his ONLY hope is that he is one of the approximatly 25% of men who are RED color blind then he might have a shot at being duped by the pictures 😀 😀 😀

So what's the problem? I do not care who you buy from and you can buy from Goodyduck all you want.

I suggest you search RFF here for other comments on Gooeyduck.

As I said: He is engaging in "sharp practice" which is totally legal.

It has noting to do with ethics - that is a more personal standard.

Mine are different from yours - that's all.

in fact - he says the lens and finder arent included 3 times ... well, sort of - 2 x in large red and then hints at this in purple above the photos he took with the camera.

I cant comment on other listing from this person, but I really cant see anything here that misleads any potential bidder. The bidder must have really wanted this lot.

$202.50 is not bad. Just yesterday I purchased a black Bessa L for $259.

Of course, mine is new and it included a new 25/4 lens, finder, a half-case and a warranty. 🙂

It has nothing to do with my ethics vs. yours and to imply such as the case here is a little offensive, to be honest.

The fact is, whatever gooeyduck's reputation, he did not lie in this auction.

Gooeyduck has been around a long time, or at least longer than I've been buying on e-Bay. For awhile his items were sold through another Seller, probably because he had some health problems. He puts up attractive displays, all of the right disclaimers, and somehow gets excellent prices (for a Seller). I've corresponded with him about particular items and he has always been quick to respond and candid. However, I have never bought from him because his auctions almost always end above what I consider to be a reasonable price. There just aren't many bargains on his auctions.
