Leather adhesive Shellac or rubber cement

I have search the internet for a while, Some people said Shellac is the best for glue leather on camera, some posts stated rubber cemment is the best, some camera leather sellers just use self adhesive dry transfer tape type. Which is is better pro vs con? thanks

I like a good contact cement like Pliobond. Rubber cement doesn't hold well long term.

I agree with Al. When I used to do leather work, I used Barge cement, much like regular contact cement, you apply to both sides and it creates a very strong bond. Never used it for camera leather but I would use it if I needed to, it pretty much sticks to anything.

Another vote for Pliobond. Wears very well over the long term.

That said - if you think your going to have to work under the leather again soon.. use shellac, or something that can be easily removed with a solvent that won't hurt the leather.
