Leather covered Leica I

We know (read original post) that this camera has had this leather covering since the 1940s...the smaller lens flange I have seen on other lenses and assumed they were conversions. Yes, the camera has the collimating plug at back and the 'round' accesory shoe. The screw that looks chrome is simply worn steel.

Hi Michael and Pan F,

Thank you very much for sharing this information. I presume Leitz made the small flange in the very early years before realizing that the lager flange looked better.
Another Elmar with a small flange can be seen in Rogliatti "The first 60 years", page 48.
