some of you may have noticed that jorge deleted a thread today.

the individuals and sites involved are not the concern of this post however.

i want to talk about etiquette and what will be tolerated on rff.

short catch up...there was a for sale post, the seller was a relatively new member, someone posted a link from another site where this seller had done business. the link contained info about the seller/past sales etc. so far so good.
another brand new member added to the post with some not very flattering comments about the seller and what seemed a great desire to start a debate.

at this point i jumped in with a warning and then jorge deleted the thread.

so, what's this all about?

rff is obviously fine with classifieds and if you are a new member posting a classified you are taking your chances that the members here would be willing to buy from an unknown entity.
and as buyers we take our chances with someone we have not interacted with.

i am glad for a heads up concerning a seller that might not be the most reputable.
providing a link is ok too.

but looking for a fight, carried over from another site is unacceptable.
it will not be tolerated and the thread will be deleted.

persons publicly pursuing the issue further will also be banned from this site.
no ifs, ends or buts...and no discussion.

no one has been banned today because i think it's fair to issue a warning and for people to know the consequence of their action.

everyone is now fore warned.

Back to track... I saw that thread. The "warning" wasn't exactly prudent, and the intent seemed to me too transparent a provocation. I'm glad you guys noticed. I didn't know whether to alert anyone or not... Rather, I admit: I wondered if it was my business to report it... now I realize it was.

What's it with you guys, picking a fight and thinking to get away with it?! Joe and Jorge are vigilant as always, and Bill really does know how to use that leash. Or he'll release the hounds!

All kidding aside, if you need to pick a fight, go somewhere else. I've heard that PN is a good place to find a ring to fight in.
 
Thinking about releasing hounds, a little MacBeth seems to be apropriate. Hope I got the translation from the Klingon original right 🙂

As a Baskerville, I object strenuously! My poor hound has been hounded enough already! That Holmes and Watson actually shot the poor mutt and they are going to be miffed when they see the size of the lawsuit I'm bringing. If people don't want to play with my pooch, they can bloody well stay off of my moors! So there! 😀
