A 200 acre wet prairie remnant in northern Illinois. This pic is mostly indiangrass (Sorghastrum nutans) with the shorter stuff being mostly Carex pennsylvanicum. The pink critter in left side of frame is new york ironweed (Vernonia noveboracensis). Normally the Vernonia is more blue-purple, but the pinky looking stuff also occurs. Canon FTb, Tamron 24-70.
