I wrote to Freestyle asking if they planned on releasing a LegacyPro 1600. I got this reply:

At this time there are no plans in the works for a 1600 ISO. But, if we get enough interest from customers, perhaps is could happen.

Well, there you go. This came from Marv Keller, the customer service manager. Email him at marv AT freestylephoto DOT biz, or go to the email form on their website: http://www.freestylephoto.biz/c_contact.php

C'mon, people, let's bring rebadged Neopan into the world, eh?

I'm happy enough with my Arista Premium pushed to 1600, but I'll help you out and show some interest in a 1600 iso Legacy Pro. I'm picking up some film and paper at Freestyle during my lunch break today so I'll mention it. :)

I love Neopan 1600! I will definitely help the cause!

Neopan 1600

Hi.
Isn't Neopan 1600 still available? What's the difference? What's the purpose of a rebranded film? Is it just a cost issue?

I'd be much happier if they were working on reintroducing discontinued films. Like APX100.

It would be much cheaper than Neopan 1600. Freestyle isn't in the business of restoring discontinued films, unfortunately, but they do rebadge brand name films, e.g., Arista Premium 400 is Tri-X, at half the price.

Neopan 1600 is a special film, I think, and I would love to get to buy it cheaply.

neopan 1600 is pretty expensive! Isn't APX100 still available? I understood its marketed as Silvertone 100 now.

In Germany it's sold as Rollei 100, pretty cheap, too. I recently bought another 30,5m roll for something like 20 Euros, that's about € 1.10 / film.

Just sent an e-mail also, hope this works out
for all of us that are familiar w/this film(Fuji).
My supply of Fuji is down to 5 rolls.

Hi, "dfoo."
I can't find Silvertone 100 anywhere online. Only a few references to it, in fact.

APX 100 was discontinued a while ago, at least in 135. Rollei Retro 100 is supposed to be the same film, but even that is hard to find outside of the super-priced Lomography site.

Thanks, "dfoo." I managed to find some Rollei Retro, but i will look into the Silvertone. I also just read that Arista may also be rebranded APX, but that post was from 2006, and referred to "Arista II." I've emailed freestyle to see if that's another source.

[Sorry to have hijacked the LegacyPro 1600 thread]

Done, I love those guys (and gals) at Freestyle.

I have just exposed my first roll of Neopan (ever), so let's see what I'll get.

But if LegacyPro is really neopan, I'll definitely buy a couple of rolls at various speed. One roll is not nearly enough for me to determine if I like a film type or not :D
