My friend Georges Vaussy lent me his leica 3.
I compared this camera with my Zorki 1 for my website ( see "NOUVEAUTE" if you want to see this Léica 3 on my website).

...in time, DRP was replaced by DBP (Deutsches Bundespatent). I wonder why the "R(eichs)" was still retained after the war. Postwar IIIc still used it...

Hi
I looked at your site, it's excellent (though I could not understand French
The features you noted on the Leica are unique to the IIIc and the latter III series cameras. The earlier Leica III (including IIIa, IIIb) and II, share many features with the Zorki. LIke the Zorki (based after the Leica II), the pre-IIIc Leica also had separate (and more distant) eyepieces for the range- and viewfinders. The front window of the viewfinder also had a notch on the right side, though Zorki had this extended upwards.
There is a comparison here, comparing a 1936 Leica III with a Zorki which had been converted to a black "Leica" II:

No, that was founded in 1908 when my great grandparents married. Coincidence? Not in the Twilight Zone
