Has anyone here tried the Leica 75 Slux on the Ziess Ikon? If so what is your success rate when focusing at close distances?

I have been using it on my M3, and, I have not made an out of focus photograph yet with the M3 Viewfinder. I'm not as lucky using it on my M6TTL (0.72).My Zi is still with DAG having the rangefinder adjusted so I cannot try it myself yet, but I would love to use this Gem on the Zi.

Any findings?

This is a 0.72 question, if I read your post correctly. So my guess is your keeper rate will be the same as with your M6. What do you say?

Well the rangefinder base length is supposed to be longer on the Zi when compared to the 0.72 of the M6TTL. The Effective Base length is 55.5 on the Zi Vs 49.32 on the M6. (RFB x IM = EBL)

I have greater success with the 90 Cron on the Zi than I do on the M6 as well.

Perhaps! I’m still curious to know if anyone has tried this combo, and if they have had any issues because the Zi seems to be more than just slightly better to focus than my M6.

I did. While I had the ZI, my Noctilux and Summilux 75 we're easy to focus wide open without missing a beat. However, my M4-P was just as accurate.

I remember the ZI to be slightly off at infinity. But all shots wide open and focused at 1 meter we're extremely accurate. And physics being what they are, if the 1 meter shots we're in focus, the rest would follow normally. All in all, it was a little bit easier to focus with the ZI and it was as accurate as my extremely accurate and reliable Leica M4-P.

My 75 Summilux has been parked on my ZI since I first tried them together. At some point I may try the lens on the M6 with a HKSupplies 1.25x magnifier, but frankly I like the ZI VF better, even though the 75 Summilux brings up the 50mm frameline 😡.
