Leica a la carte

Hmmmm, and whoever said women were devious? ;)

Hah! I've been married almost 20 years and that "ruse" has never worked! I am far more interested in gear than most jewelry, for example -- but since he knows how picky I am about such things, he would never surprise me on his own.

Now, he did trick me into going to lunch in Manhattan one day where we ended up at B&H -- the day I got my first digital SLR! :)

I bought my chrome M6 TTL second hand in as new condition for a fraction of the price of a new one. It seemed lika a good deal.

Now that i ordered a new M8 it seemed like a good opportunity to make it an á la carte order. But the new camera wasn't available as á la carte yet so the M8 ended up as a normal black one. I got it last week.

I dont think the premium cost for á la carte is that expensive. It's the new M-kamera that is expensive in itself. If you want to spend that money on a new M-kamera then by all means make it an á la carte kamera.

The lunch in Manhattan sounds nice, but the DSLR?... man, he really blew it with that one! ;)

Thanks for the feedback.

I will most likely pick up a used M6 from KEH as that is more in my price range (er...yeah, explain that to the chairperson).

Must admit though, if I win the lottery, the a la carte is the coolest thing I have seen in photography.

Again, enjoyed the feedback and hope to become familiar with all in the coming weeks!
